119th Congress · Session 1 · February 20, 2025

A recorded vote — every member's position is on the record

The chamber's own wording is below. A recorded vote means each member's position was written down individually rather than settled by a voice vote.

What was being voted on

119-SAMDT-276 — To create a point of order against legislation that would take away health care from seniors, including those receiving care in nursing homes, through cuts to the Medicaid program.

What This Is All About Ms. Baldwin submitted this amendment to keep our elected officials accountable when it comes to the health care of our seniors. Simply put, it sets up a roadblock in the Senate against any future legislation that tries to cut the Medicaid program and take health care away from older Americans, including those living in nursing homes or getting care in their own homes. What It Changes in the Bill Adds a new point of order to the Senate rules.

The Senate recorded this as
On the Motion (Motion to Waive All Applicable Budgetary Discipline Re: Baldwin Amdt. No. 276)
To create a point of order against legislation that would take away health care from seniors, including those receiving care in nursing homes, through cuts to the Medicaid program.
