What this bill would do
This bill, known as the ``Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons Act'', directs the Director of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to conduct a study on Holocaust education. The study will examine efforts within all States, a sample of local educational agencies, and public elementary and secondary schools. It looks into whether these entities require or offer optional Holocaust education as part of their curriculum. The Director will also investigate standards, professional development, and the use of various instructional materials. Finally, the study will assess how students' knowledge and ability to identify antisemitism and bigotry are evaluated. The results must be reported to Congress within a specific timeframe.
