What this bill would do
The Rural Veterinary Workforce Act aims to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It seeks to provide an exclusion for assistance given to people in certain veterinary student loan repayment or forgiveness programs. This includes assistance under section 1415A of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977. It also covers other State loan repayment or loan forgiveness programs designed to increase access to veterinary services in that State.
