What this bill would do
This Act, known as the ``Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2025'', aims to increase compensation rates for various groups. Effective December 1, 2025, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs will increase specific dollar amounts for disability compensation and dependency and indemnity compensation. These increases apply to wartime disability compensation, additional compensation for dependents, clothing allowances, and compensation for surviving spouses and children. The increase percentage will match the percentage used for Social Security Act title II benefit increases. Finally, the Secretary is required to publish these adjusted rates in the Federal Register.

Potential Positive Impacts for People
-
Increased Disability and Dependency Compensation: The bill increases dollar amounts for wartime disability compensation, additional compensation for dependents, clothing allowances, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children (Section 2(b)). This provides more financial support to veterans and their families.
-
Cost-of-Living Alignment: The compensation increases are tied to the same percentage increase applied to Social Security Act title II benefits (Section 2(c)). This ensures that the adjustments are based on established social security increase determinations.
