What this bill would do
This bill is called the Taiwan Non-Discrimination Act of 2025. It requires the Secretary of the Treasury to use the voice and vote of the United States to support Taiwan's admission as a member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The bill also directs the U.S. Governor of the IMF to support Taiwan's participation in regular economic surveillance activities, employment opportunities for Taiwan nationals, and the receipt of technical assistance and training. Additionally, it states that it is U.S. policy not to discourage Taiwan from seeking IMF admission. Finally, the bill requires the Secretary of the Treasury to include descriptions of U.S. efforts to support Taiwan's participation in international financial institutions in congressional testimony over the next seven years.
