What this bill would do

This bill, titled the "No Secret Police Act of 2025," seeks to amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002. It targets Department of Homeland Security law enforcement officers and agents involved in border security or immigration enforcement. Under this act, these officers must provide identification of their employing component during a detention or arrest. They are also required to wear visible official insignia or uniforms and are prohibited from wearing face coverings that conceal their face. Additionally, the Secretary is tasked with researching technology to maximize the visibility of these insignia under various conditions.
