What this bill would do
This bill is known as the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Land Transfer Act of 2025. It revokes a specific public land order from 1964 and transfers jurisdiction of that land to the Secretary. The Secretary is required to place approximately 80 acres of BLM land and approximately 185 acres of Indian Creek Ranch land into trust for the benefit of the Tribe. These lands will become part of the Tribe's reservation and be administered according to laws for property held in trust. The bill explicitly prohibits any class II or class III gaming on the land taken into trust.
