What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "Justice for American Victims of Illegal Aliens Act," proposes changes to the United States Code. It seeks to amend title 18 by adding a new aggravating factor to be considered during sentencing. Specifically, it targets defendants who are aliens that entered or remained in the United States in violation of Federal law. This new factor applies if the defendant is convicted of killing, attempting to kill, or conspiring to kill a United States citizen. The amendment would be added to section 3592(c).
