What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "ON TIME Act," seeks to amend title 38 of the United States Code. It requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to ensure a suicide prevention coordinator is available at every Department of Veterans Affairs medical center. These coordinators must be available as needed to accommodate requests for suicide prevention planning services. This availability must include times outside of the regular operating hours of the medical center. Finally, the bill includes a provision that does not authorize the hiring of additional full-time equivalent positions.
