What this bill would do

This bill is known as the DISCLOSE Act of 2026. It changes federal election laws to require more transparency and disclosure from corporations, labor organizations, Super PACs, and other groups that spend money on elections. The bill sets up stricter rules to block foreign nationals and foreign money from influencing U.S. elections and ballot measures. It also updates rules for political ads, prerecorded phone calls, and communications about federal judicial nominees. Finally, the legislation creates new criminal penalties for creating corporations to hide foreign election spending.
