What this bill would do
The Bank-Fintech Partnership Enhancement Act directs federal agencies to investigate how partnerships between financial technology companies and traditional banking organizations impact the financial sector. The Federal Reserve, the Comptroller of the Currency, and the FDIC are tasked with studying these partnerships' effects on competition, innovation, and consumer protection. This study aims to see if such partnerships help form new banking organizations or improve the health of community banks. Additionally, the National Credit Union Administration is required to conduct a similar study regarding partnerships with credit unions. All agencies must submit their findings and reports to Congress within one year of the Act's enactment.
