What this bill would do

This bill is known as the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act of 2025 or the EACH Act of 2025. It aims to ensure that every person has access to affordable abortion coverage and care regardless of their income or type of insurance. The bill requires federal health programs and plans to provide coverage for abortion services. It also stops the federal government from prohibiting or restricting abortion coverage by state or local governments or private health plans. Additionally, the legislation repeals section 1303 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which deals with the restriction of abortion coverage in health plans.
