What this bill would do
This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to create the Wildlife Confiscations Network. This voluntary, cooperative program is intended to help Federal wildlife law enforcement agencies with the placement and care of confiscated animals. The network will work in partnership with a professional accrediting zoological association. It aims to provide a coordinated response for the welfare of animals seized at U.S. ports of entry or borders. The program will involve a committee to review and approve various animal care facilities for membership. Finally, the bill authorizes $5,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2026 through 2030 to carry out these functions.
