What this bill would do
The "Farewell to Foam Act of 2025" aims to prohibit the sale and distribution of specific expanded polystyrene products. This includes food service ware, loose fill packaging, and coolers. The ban on food service ware and loose fill/coolers is set to begin on January 1, 2028. The Act establishes penalties for those who violate these prohibitions after receiving a written notification. Enforcement is managed by the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
