What this bill would do
The Delivering for Rural Seniors Act of 2025 creates a pilot grant program to help deliver food commodities directly to the homes of low-income elderly persons. Under this bill, the Secretary will award competitive grants to State agencies. State agencies will then distribute these funds to eligible local or subdistributing agencies. Priority is given to those serving participants in rural areas. The bill authorizes $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2028 to fund the program. State agencies must also report back to the Secretary on their activities and the effectiveness of the home delivery projects.
