What this bill would do
The Women's Health Protection Act of 2025 aims to protect the ability of individuals to decide whether to continue or end a pregnancy. It also seeks to protect health care providers' ability to provide abortion services. The bill establishes a right to access abortion services prior to fetal viability without certain burdensome limitations. It also protects the fundamental right of individuals to travel across state lines to obtain these services. The Act includes provisions for legal enforcement through both the Attorney General and private rights of action. Finally, it aims to supersede inconsistent State or Federal laws that create barriers to reproductive health care.
