What this amendment would do

Mr. Booker, along with Mr. Blumenthal, submitted this amendment to change how a specific fund or program is paid for in the bill. Common sense tells us that when big money is involved, we need to know who is footing the bill so our elected officials are holding the right people accountable.

  • The amendment sets a spending limit of $200,000,000 for the fund or program.

  • It requires that any amount over $100,000,000 must be paid for by an intercollegiate athletic association, the Big 10 Conference, the Big 12 Conference, the Southeastern Conference, and the Atlantic Coast Conference.

A vote on one change, not on the bill. A bill can collect dozens of these, and losing one does not stop it.
