What this amendment would do
SA 5321 is an amendment proposed by Mr. Bennet and other senators to be added to S. Con. Res. 33. This resolution sets the congressional budget for fiscal year 2026 and budgetary levels for fiscal years 2027 through 2035.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a reserve fund relating to lifting children out of poverty.
It aims to add a section that allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to:
- Revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These actions can be taken for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports that relate to lifting children out of poverty based on the amounts provided in that legislation.
