What this amendment would do

SA 3514, submitted by Mr. Daines, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Adjutant General of the Montana National Guard to create agreements with veterans service organizations. These agreements would allow those organizations to provide funeral honors to veterans.

  • The organizations must be recognized by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs under section 5902 of title 38, United States Code.
  • The honors provided are those available to veterans under section 1491 of title 10, United States Code.
