What this amendment would do

SA 3458, submitted by Mr. Husted and Mr. Moreno, aims to add a new subsection to section 1531 of bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to establish coordination between the Golden Dome Direct Reporting Program Manager and the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The amendment intends to:

  • Accelerate the development and fielding of technologies and capabilities for the Golden Dome missile defense system. This includes spacecraft power, hypersonic research, in-space propulsion, and advanced communications.

  • Allow the Golden Dome Direct Reporting Program Manager to temporarily station or second Golden Dome officials at NASA field centers to help with this coordination.
