What this amendment would do
SA 3392, submitted by Ms. Cortez Masto, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2296 titled "Use of Defense Production Act Fund for Critical Minerals Investments."
The purpose of this amendment is to require the President to use a portion of funds from section 30004 of Public Law 119-21 to make investments for the following:

To support measures that increase the production of critical minerals and derivative products in the United States, following Executive Order 14241.

To support investments in critical minerals and derivative products that were already made under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
