What this amendment would do

SA 3332, submitted by Mr. Schiff, aims to add requirements regarding F-15 aircraft for the Air National Guard to bill S. 2296.

The amendment intends to change the following:

  • The Secretary of the Air Force must make sure Air National Guard fighter wings flying F-15C aircraft for Airspace Control Alert missions keep at least 12 fighter aircraft during the transition to F-15EX or other aircraft.

  • The Secretary of the Air Force must replace and distribute F-15C aircraft among Air National Guard fighter wings set to receive F-15EX aircraft until all F-15C aircraft are recapitalized.

  • The Secretary of the Air Force cannot cut funding for weapon system sustainment activities, unit personnel, or operations and maintenance for current F-15 aircraft based on the presumption of future congressional authority to divest those aircraft.
