What this amendment would do

SA 3180, submitted by Mr. Padilla, aims to add a new section to bill S. 2296.

The purpose of this amendment is to stop the use of military construction funds for the following:

  • Constructing, renovating, or expanding any facility used by the Department of Defense to detain migrants.

  • Constructing, renovating, or expanding any facility to help the Department of Homeland Security detain migrants, which includes housing their personnel.
