What this amendment would do

SA 2916, submitted by Mr. Schatz, aims to add a requirement for the Secretary of Defense to provide a report on the Enhanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense System in Guam to the congressional defense committees by December 1, 2025.

The purpose of this report is to cover the following:

  • The effect of the system on public infrastructure in Guam and a plan to help mitigate those effects.

  • Whether there are feasible alternatives to the system, considering the Guam environmental impact statement.

  • Whether it is feasible to set up an Economic Adjustment Committee for Guam based on Executive Order 12788.
