What It Does

Senator Cortez Masto submitted an amendment that adds funding for a specific program and cuts funding for another.
It gives $30,000,000 to the Secretary of Health and Human Services for fiscal year 2026 to carry out the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Act of 1981. This money stays available until it is spent.
To help pay for that, it reduces the amount appropriated under section 87001 for the Garden of Heros down to $10,000,000.
