What this amendment would do

Mr. Kaine submitted amendment SA 1886 to establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to doubling funding for career and technical education.

What It Changes or Adds

This amendment allows the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These adjustments can be made for legislation relating to doubling funding for career and technical education.

The key rule is that any legislation using this fund must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
