What this amendment would do
Mr. Kaine, along with Mr. Van Hollen, submitted amendment SA 1788 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting federal employees who are veterans.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes can be made for legislation relating to:
- Supporting federal employees who are veterans
- Protecting federal employees who are veterans against mass reclassifications, removals, and furloughs
This applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
