What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Kaine, along with Mr. Kim, submitted amendment SA 1781 to H. Con. Res. 14, which sets the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and establishes budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
-
The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting access to home- and community-based services.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These adjustments are for legislation relating to promoting opportunities for seniors and people with disabilities to access long-term service and support in their homes and communities.
-
The changes are allowed only if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
