S.Amdt. 1780

Mr. Kaine submitted amendment numbered SA 1780, which is intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution setting the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting access to health care services at community health centers. Common sense tells us this gives the budget committee chairman the power to adjust financial allocations and ledgers for legislation focused on protecting access to health care services, including protecting resources for Federally-qualified health centers.

The amendment aims to change the budget resolution by allowing these financial adjustments as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
