Purpose and Changes

The purpose of this amendment is to add a section requiring a Congressional Budget Office report. It aims to add the following requirements to the bill:

  • Not later than 90 days after the concurrent resolution is agreed to, the Director of the Congressional Budget Office must submit a report to Congress.
  • The report must cover the impact that the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump would have on the economy, the cost of consumer goods, and inflation.
  • The report must include an estimate of the cost of such tariffs to the people of the United States, broken down by income bracket.
