-
The purpose of this amendment is to add a point of order against funding immigration enforcement actions at churches or other houses of worship.
-
This aims to make it out of order in the Senate to consider any bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, amendment between the Houses, or conference report that provides funds for immigration enforcement actions at churches or other houses of worship.
-
It also sets a rule that this point of order may only be waived or suspended in the Senate by an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members, duly chosen and sworn.
-
Additionally, an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Members of the Senate, duly chosen and sworn, is required to sustain an appeal of the ruling of the Chair on a point of order raised under this section.
