What this amendment would do

The purpose of this amendment is to add a new section to the concurrent resolution for the fiscal year 2025 budget. Here is what it aims to do:

  • Allow Budget Changes: It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change certain budget allocations and adjustments for legislation related to the Federal workforce.
  • Protect Social Security: It specifically mentions preventing a reduction in force at the Social Security Administration that would delay or hinder Americans' access to services or social security benefits.
  • Keep Deficits Neutral: Any legislation passed for these purposes must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
