What this amendment would do
-
The amendment was submitted by Ms. Alsobrooks, along with Mr. Kim and Ms. Blunt Rochester.
-
It creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to Federal agencies.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make changes and adjustments for legislation related to Federal agencies.
-
Specifically, this can include preventing a reorganization of divisions at the Department of Health and Human Services that would undermine ongoing efforts to combat the opioid epidemic, address health disparities, or relate to pandemic preparedness.
-
The legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
