What this amendment would do
Mr. Padilla submitted amendment SA 1460 to the concurrent resolution establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.
-
The amendment aims to prohibit using Medicaid cuts as an offset.
-
It makes it not in order in the Senate to consider certain bills, joint resolutions, amendments, or conference reports that make changes to the Medicaid program under specific conditions.
-
To move forward with changes to Medicaid, the Director of the Congressional Budget Office must first certify that the changes would not result in lower coverage rates, reduced benefits, or decreased affordability.
