A Senate resolution is the Senate speaking for itself: stating a position, honouring someone, or setting its own rules. Adopting it is the whole process. Once the Senate agrees to it, it is officially the Senate's word; it is not a law, so the House and the President have no part in it.

What this bill would do

This resolution authorizes the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate to hold blood donation drives once every quarter during the 119th Congress. The Sergeant at Arms is responsible for selecting the dates for these drives in consultation with the Committee on Rules and Administration. Additionally, the Sergeant at Arms must identify and select a location and a partnering blood donation organization for each event. These selections require approval from the Committee on Rules and Administration. Senators may also request specific blood donation organizations for the Sergeant at Arms to consider.
