Section 1(a): This provision promotes public appreciation of the significant historic contributions made by United States military leader and statesman George Catlett Marshall, Jr. This is positive because it helps people learn about important American history.
-
Section 1(e)(1): The Secretary of the Interior may provide technical assistance and enter into cooperative agreements with the management entity to provide financial assistance for marketing, marking, interpretation, and preservation. This could benefit the public by helping preserve and explain the historic site properly.
Potential Negative Impacts for People
- Section 1(f): Nothing in this section authorizes the Secretary to acquire property at the affiliated area or to assume overall financial responsibility for the operation, maintenance, or management of the area. This could be viewed as a negative outcome or limitation because it restricts federal support for the site's ongoing care.
