This bill is known as the Measuring Illicit Fentanyl Trafficking Act. It tells the Secretary of Homeland Security to create performance metrics for detecting, deterring, and seizing illicit fentanyl. Within one year of the act being enacted, the Secretary must make sure that Department of Homeland Security components collaborate and share information regarding illicit fentanyl. These components must also identify any barriers to sharing this information. Finally, the Secretary must establish performance metrics for the Department and its components that align with strategic objectives to combat illicit fentanyl trafficking.
