What this bill would do
The Prescription Information Modernization Act of 2026 aims to allow the prescribing information for drugs and biological products to be provided solely through electronic means. Under this bill, manufacturers can move to digital-only labeling as long as they follow the law. Manufacturers must still let prescribers and dispensers choose to receive paper versions or request them as needed at no extra cost. The Secretary of Health and Human Services is tasked with issuing final regulations and minimizing economic impacts on those providing the medicine. Additionally, a public workshop will be held to discuss the usability and accessibility of this information.
