What this bill would do
This bill aims to create the Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Shelter National Historical Park in New York. The park's purpose is to preserve and interpret the history of the 982 refugees housed at Fort Ontario during World War II. Establishment of the park depends on the Secretary of the Interior determining that enough land has been acquired to manage it. The Secretary will administer the park following laws applicable to the National Park System. The Secretary also has the authority to enter into cooperative agreements for education and restoration.

Potential Negative Impacts for People
- Land Acquisition Requirements: The establishment of the park is subject to the Secretary determining that a sufficient quantity of land or interests in land has been acquired to make it a manageable unit (Section 3(a)(3)(A)).
