What this bill would do

The ``Make Congress Drive Union Made Act'' places restrictions on how Members of Congress use their official funds for vehicles. It prohibits Representatives and Senators from using their allowances to purchase or lease a motor vehicle unless specific criteria are met. The vehicle must have a final assembly place within the United States. Additionally, the vehicle must be assembled by employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. These changes are set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
