What this bill would do
The Water Resources Technical Assistance Review Act of 2025 directs the Comptroller General to conduct a comprehensive review of the Environmental Protection Agency's clean water-related technical assistance. This review must include a description of assistance available to various entities and a look at the WaterTA initiative's provider selection and deployment processes. The Comptroller General is also tasked with analyzing program duplication and how assistance builds community capacity. Furthermore, the review must assess the needs of economically distressed communities and evaluate coordination with other federal agencies. Once the review is complete, a report containing findings and recommendations must be submitted to the EPA Administrator and relevant Congressional committees. Finally, the Administrator is required to submit a plan detailing actions taken to comply with the report's recommendations.
