What this bill would do

This bill requires the Secretary of Defense to start a pilot program to create a wastewater surveillance system at four or more military installations. The goal is to improve the identification and analysis of covered drug use and the prevalence of infectious diseases among members of the Armed Forces. The program must use a uniform data system and appropriate technologies. It will last for two years. After it ends, the Secretary must report the findings and recommendations to congressional defense committees.
