What this bill would do
The Pit River Land Transfer Act of 2025 transfers administrative jurisdiction of the Four Corners Federal land in California from the Secretary of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior. This land, totaling approximately 583.79 acres, is then taken into trust for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe. Once in trust, the land becomes part of the Tribe's Reservation. The Secretary of the Interior is required to perform a complete survey of the land within 180 days. The act specifically prohibits the use of this land for class II or class III gaming.
