What this bill would do
This bill is known as the Servicemembers' Credit Monitoring Enhancement Act. It amends the Fair Credit Reporting Act to change how certain military consumers are defined for credit monitoring requirements. Specifically, it updates the term from active duty military consumer to armed forces member consumer. Under the new definition, any member of the armed forces is included regardless of their specific duty status. These changes are set to take effect one year after the date of enactment.
