What this bill would do
The "Protection Against Foreign Adversarial Artificial Intelligence Act of 2025" aims to protect the U.S. from AI applications linked to countries of concern. It prohibits Federal contractors from using the DeepSeek application or services from High Flyer to fulfill Federal contracts, unless a waiver is granted for research or national security. Additionally, it requires the Secretary of Commerce to produce a report on national security threats posed by AI platforms from these countries. This report must analyze censorship, state-sponsored propaganda, export control circumvention, and data privacy risks.
