What this bill would do
The Interactive Federal Review Act aims to improve the environmental review process for highway projects. It seeks to do this through the use of interactive, digital, cloud-based platforms and digital twins. The bill directs the Secretary of Transportation to encourage project sponsors to use these high-fidelity, 3-dimensional digital models. The Secretary is tasked with selecting at least 10 covered projects to demonstrate this technology. Additionally, the Secretary must publish best practice guidance and report on the efficacy of these digital tools.
