What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "Cameras in the Courtroom Act," seeks to allow the televising of Supreme Court proceedings. It would amend Title 28 of the United States Code to require the Supreme Court to permit television coverage of all open sessions. However, the Court can prevent coverage if a majority of justices decide it would violate the due process rights of any party involved in a case. This legislation was introduced by Mr. Durbin and reported by Mr. Grassley.
