What this bill would do
The HUD Disaster Information Improvement Act requires the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to work with the Administrators of FEMA and the Small Business Administration. These agencies must establish a memorandum of understanding or an interagency agreement to share disaster relief data. The goal of this data sharing is to increase efficiency and mitigate waste, fraud, and abuse within disaster recovery programs. Additionally, the Secretary must submit a report to specific House and Senate committees regarding collaboration opportunities. This report is due within 180 days of the section's enactment.
