What this bill would do
This bill, known as the "250 Years of Service and Sacrifice Commemorative Coin Act," directs the Secretary of the Treasury to mint specific coins to honor American service and sacrifice during the nation's semiquincentennial. The program includes the production of gold, silver, and half-dollar clad coins to be issued throughout 2028. The designs are intended to represent over 250 years of American history and will be selected after consultation with specific organizations. A surcharge will be applied to the sale of each coin. These funds are designated to support the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. This foundation provides assistance to Gold Star families, first responders, veterans, and their families.
