What this bill would do
The Veteran Headstone Honor Act proposes an amendment to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. It seeks to establish a new tax credit known as the veteran headstone medallion credit. This credit is intended for expenses paid or incurred by taxpayers for attaching veteran medallions to headstones or markers within private cemeteries they own and operate. To receive the credit, taxpayers must certify the attachment to the Secretary and provide an itemized statement of expenditures. The Secretary will prescribe regulations for this process in consultation with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
